Without much ado, we will be looking at the richest Hausa men in Nigeria in the listicle below.

6. Aliko Dangote

I’m guessing we were all expecting him to be top of the list. He’s currently worth over 21.6 billion dollars. He is the richest man in Nigeria and Africa. Ranked as 67th richest person in the world, Aliko Dangote was born in Kano state, Nigeria.

He studied business studies at the University of Cairo. He is the chairman and CEO of Dangote group companies.

The company is into mining, petroleum, cement, and steel. He just finished building a major refinery in Lagos state, Nigeria. He has investments in Nigeria, Togo, Tanzania, Senegal, Cameroon, Ghana, Zambia, Ethiopia, Benin, and South Africa.

5. Abdulsamad Rabiu

Abdusalam Rabiu was named by Forbes as Africa’s newest billionaire in Forbes November issue of 2013. According to Venture Africa, he is worth over 1.5 billion dollars. He is currently the Chairman of the Nigerian Bank of Industry.

4. Theophilus Danjuma

Theophilus Danjuma used to be a soldier in the Nigerian army before he later retired as a general. He was born on the 9th of December 1938 in Taraba state. As the former minister of defense under President Olusegun Obasanjo, Mr. Danjuma also ventured into politics.

He is currently the chairman of South Atlantic Petroleum (SAPETRO), a Nigerian upstream oil and gas company. He is currently worth over 1.8 billion dollars.

3. Mohammed Indimi

Mohammed Indimi is the founder and chairman of Oriental Energy Resources, Limited. His company is highly involved in the oil sector, especially in the Nigerian Upstream Oil and Gas sector. His company was founded in 1990 and has expanded the company’s portfolio that it now has assets in Offshore Nigeria.

His assets include the Ebok Field (OML 67), Okwok Field (OML 67, and OML 115). In addition, Forbes listed him as Africa’s number 37th richest man with an estimated net worth of $670 million.

2. Abubakar Sani Bello

Abubakar Sani Bello is the founder of Amni International petroleum development Co. The company is into oil exploration with 50% interest in the Okoro Setu oil field. Also, he was once a Nigerian military governor from Kano state and was also an Ambassador to Zimbabwe. He is currently ranked as the 40^thrichest man in Africa with a net worth of $425 million.

Sani Bello is a Nigerian politician the current governor of Niger State. The 51-year old is presently serving his second term after he was re-elected as the governor of the state on March 9, 2019.

1. Sayyu Dantata

Dantata started his career as Director of the Engineering and Transport Division of Dangote Group. Also, he is the founder and Chief Executive Officer of MRS Holdings Ltd (Formerly, MRS Group) which is one of the largest Nigerian conglomerate groups.

Sayyu, unknown to many, is actually a half brother to Africa’s richest man, Alhaji Aliko Dangote. And this might explain Dangote’s support for him years back when he had a major business issue with Femi Otedola of Forte Oil. The matter got out of hand with Otedola and Dangote even resorting to roforofo.

His surname is Idris, but he had to swap it with Dantata because his mother, from the popular Dantata family, brought him up.  As a matter of fact, it was Dangote that paid his school fees in the U.S.

He used to live inside Parkview, in Ikoyi, Lagos until years back when he moved to Banana Island, where he has a sprawling mansion.
