Lagos State Accounts For 44% Of Nigeria’s COVID-19 Cases –Sanwo-Olu
The Lagos State Government has revealed that Lagos state accounts for about 44 per cent of the total number of confirmed COVID-19 cases nationwide and continues to be the epicentre of the pandemic in Nigeria. Governor Babajide Sanwo-Olu, said this while giving an update on COVID-19 in the state, noting that the steady increase in the number of cases is by no means unexpected.
Lagos State Governor He also disclosed that the state presently has a total of 7,319 confirmed cases of COVID-19. “As at midnight yesterday, June 15, 2020, Lagos State had recorded a total of 7,319 confirmed cases of COVID-19. “Of this number, 1,137 have fully recovered and been discharged, while 82 have sadly died, leaving 6,100 active cases under management in the State.
3. Coronavirus: Bayelsa Records 54 New Cases, 8 Health Workers Infected
The Bayelsa COVID-19 Task Force says it has recorded 54 new cases of the disease as stated by the National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC).
Coronavirus EdoDeputy Chairman of the Task Force, Dr Inodu Apoku, made this known during a press briefing on Wednesday in Yucaipa, where he said that out of the 54 cases, eight were health professionals.
Apoku, also said the 54 cases were from over 300 pending samples of COVID -19 in various COVID-19 laboratories across the state.

The Personal Assistant of the Kogi state governor Abdulateef Suleiman is dead. The PA to Yahaya Bello died at a private hospital in Abuja on Wednesday morning. A hospital source said he died of sepsis shock and cardiac arrest.
In a statement, Onogwu Muhammed, chief press secretary to the governor, said Suleiman died after a brief illness. Abulateef will be buried in Abuja, later on Wednesday according to Islamic funeral rites.
